PHILOSOPHY

The architectural design philosophies explored in this project are underpinned by a biophilic approach with some nuances towards regenerative.

MATERIALS

The materials are representative of the notion that the house has grown out of its site. Therefore masonry walls become the solid rocky ground out of which the house has grown. Timber clad walls represent the tension between site and new growth.

SITING

Set at the base of Mount Majura

LAYOUT

Many of the spaces are arrayed around a central courtyard to strengthen the interior to exterior connection.
